Having a big family is such an adventure, there is always something going on. Being born into a big family and now raising my own, the pros and cons are pretty much the same. There are many advantages of having a big family and even though in my opinion most of them are Pros, there are some Cons as well. I asked some of my family member to share some of their pros and cons with me and this sums them all up. There is many more then what you will read however these are the most common!!
Pros1. You are never alone. (so if your scared of the dark like me, you're good!) 2. There is always something to do. (Pranks on your siblings during down time) 3. Holidays are never boring. 4. The family ends up being resourceful. (IF one doesn't know, the next does) 5. More gifts on Christmas. *-* 6. Don't need to invite others for birthday parties. 7. There is always someone to play with. (Sisters do become your first friend) 8. If one is mad at you, there's others to talk to. 9. Females- your kegel exercise will be on point. (from waiting your turn to go pee) 10. Every one helps one another. 11. Group discounts. 12. You learn to share naturally. 13. We all have each others back. No matter what! 14. There's always someone to blame. lol 15. lots of laughter. (there's always a stupid one lol) 16. Everyday is a play date for the kids. | Cons1. Expensive 2. You cant go everywhere you would like to go. 3. Laundry. (almost daily) 4. No privacy. 5. There is always someone listening no matter how quiet you are. (Guilty, lol) 6. ( People don't realize the things they say, "are you trying to get your own tv show?" "OMG, no more right?" "Its hard having so many right?" "wow, your taxes must be nice" "How can you afford it?" The comments only gets worse and stupid. 11. Not everyone likes the same food. You end up making 2 meals. |
I am sure smaller families probably have bigger advantages but I love being part of a big family. Most of my memories are unique and hilarious and I wouldn't change it for anything in this world. Family, if you are reading, I love you all so much and although I am far away my heart is with you.
